Hi, I'm Jessica
I've been baking for as long as I can remember. Growing up as one of the youngest in a family of twelve kids, the kitchen was always the heart of our home. I'd pull up a chair to reach the counter and get my hands in the flour while my older siblings waited (sometimes patiently) for whatever I was whipping up.
Those early days of baking for a crowd taught me something I still carry with me today: food is how you show people you love them. Whether it was brownies after school, cookies on a Saturday, or a birthday cake for one of my eleven siblings, baking was always my way of saying “you matter to me.”
Now, more than five years into doing this professionally, that feeling hasn't changed one bit. I still get the biggest smile when one of my brothers or sisters asks me to bake something for them. And I bring that same love to every single order that comes through Baker Haven.
Every recipe is made completely from scratch. No box mixes, no shortcuts. Every cake is designed specifically for you and the moment you're celebrating. I genuinely love hearing your ideas, your stories, and the reason behind the cake. That's what makes each one special.
More than anything, baking has always been my peace. The world can feel so overwhelming sometimes, but when I'm in my kitchen creating, everything else fades away. It's my safe haven -- the place where I find my joy and quiet. I think that calm and love ends up baked right into everything I make.
Fun fact: I've never once used a timer when baking. My nose knows when something is done. It's one of those instincts you develop after a lifetime in the kitchen -- and it hasn't let me down yet.
My real passion has been stepping outside my comfort zone into cake decorating. There's something magical about turning someone's vision into a three-tier reality covered in roses. But honestly? Ask me tomorrow and I might tell you it's my latest cookie recipe. It just depends on the day.
